26-11-2012Workshop: The SKA - A large Scale ESFRI Infrastructure, From the Cosmos to the Cities of the Future

On the 30th of November 2012, a workshop on the Square Kilometer Array and African-European radio astronomy cooperation will take place in Lisbon, Portugal. The workshop aims at explaining the SKA project and its  big scientific and socio-economic potential to European and African policy makers, the scientific community and industry. This will be a side event to the ‘2012 Africa-EU Cooperation Week on ICT’ organised by the EuroAfrica-ICT/P8 Initiative on Nov. 26-30, 2012 in Lisbon.

Part of the workshop will be a presentation on "The SKA in EU-Africa relations: The AERAP at the European & African Parliaments" by Dr. Mmboneni Muofhe (Department of Science & technology, Government of South Africa) and  Daan du Toit (Minister Counselor of South Africa GOV Mission to the European Union).
